It's It's All About ME. Peterborough 7-1 ITFC 20 08 2011

Now is the time for the faceless owner of MY club to make an appearance and stop hiding behind his puppet Clegg as we are now becoming a laughing stock and are in need of leadership from the top. There are obviously things happening in the background that us mere supporters don’t ever find out about, but enough is enough.
For the first time in our history Ipswich had two players sent off in a match in what has to be the most embarrassing performance ever from a Town side only made worse by the fact that the Sky cameras were covering it live for the whole world to see. Poor decisions from the officials didn’t help matters but they only camouflage the truth about a truly appalling 90 minutes.
This was an away match that I had chosen to go to when the fixture list came out but decided to save my money when it was switched for live TV coverage (thanks Sky!) so I popped along to The Kesgrave Bell to watch it (I don’t have Sky but perhaps I should invest my season ticket money in a subscription). I thought that Posh were average at best and when we took the lead I said to Max “we’ll win 3-0”!  (shows what I know). Then all of a sudden we just collapsed, 4 goals in twelve minutes and then to make matters worse Lee Martin was sent-off on the stroke of halftime.
Tommy Smith came on for Josh Carson after the interval and lasted 67 seconds before he too was red carded, bringing Tomlin down outside the box. To rub salt into the wound Peterborough were given a penalty which they scored from! From then on it was just a painful 44 minute watch.
From a bright start things seem to have hit crisis point, leaving many questions to answer. Where is the Connor Wickham money? I know that we have eight new signings including loans but I would have expected Paul Jewell to been promised a decent war chest when he joined the club anyway. Why haven’t we signed a decent centre half? We knew that McAuley was going to leave ages ago surely he was the priority replacement.  Are the club not backing the manager with enough money to buy quality? To cap things off we have Liz slagging off her own supporters (I wonder if she joined in “The Conga” at London Road last night when we were 7-1 down, or did she like me watch it on Sky?)
I feel really cynical about the M.E. takeover I know that the club were in financial trouble when he came in but on the pitch we were around the playoff positions now we are financially stronger but haven’t got a TEAM just a squad and a PR machine for his ego.
It’s now time Marcus, show up or sell up and shut me up!
