Neutrogenius ITFC 1-2 Leicester 09 04 2012

He’s the player that gets under the skin of Ipswich fans, they love to jeer him and they give him plenty of stick, he’s good at giving it back and he always scores at Portman Road. Secretly the fans would like to see David Nugent in a town shirt and it nearly happened last year until Sven Goran Eriksson tempted him to Leicester.
It was a wet bank holiday Monday, in fact all of the Easter holiday had been pretty miserable as far as the weather was concerned and the result did little to lift the gloom.
The game was a tough and physical encounter, the ref kept it flowing well thus making it a good watch, even though we ended up on the losing side. Jason Scotland back in the starting lineup opened the scoring just before half-time with a good individual effort but the lead didn’t last very long. Josh Carson gave away a cheap free-kick in injury time and I’m convinced that Nugent psyched Aaron Lee Barrett out while the Town keeper was lining up his wall by turning to face him and then pulling faces and dancing about causing a distraction, as Ben Marshall took the kick he then faced the ball but continued to “dance.” Barrett flapped at the ball turning it into the net!
This was the turning point, after the break Ipswich struggled to get into the game and it was that man who scored the winner in the 58th minute and boy did he rub it in.
I can’t believe that I heard people on the Radio Suffolk “moan in” calling for Paul Jewell to go in the summer, it’s only two weeks ago that they ringing in dreaming of a playoff push!
