I missed my first home match of the season due to meeting up with Sam in Thailand, well there are worse reasons for missing games! What a strange feeling I got following my timeline on twitter the next morning. With us being seven hours ahead in Koh Samui it meant that the kickoff was 2.45am local time.
Following the lack of activity in the transfer window, (us seemingly unable to attract players) I was not too unhappy with the prospect of missing the match as all that I could see was a 3-0 loss (oh yea of little faith). It’s still hard to believe we won 5-1, imagine all the stick Robert Green and Sam Allardyce got, not to mention those smug Hammers fans who think that their team is too good for the championship!
So it’s mixed emotions for me, of course I would loved to have been there, all I’ll hear about is “you missed a cracker” etc. Would I rather have missed a shite game and put up with “another loss, Town are shit and we’re going down”??
That’s that then, I’m off to pack, heading to Bangkok today!!
